Rachel S. Barron

 

Rachel founded Next Level Communications, Inc., in late 2002. Prior to that, she was senior vice president of public relations for Fyock & Associates, where she oversaw strategic development and execution of all projects performed by Fyock's public relations staff. Clients included FedEx Express, Novant Health, and The Gap. Barron joined Fyock after serving as director of public relations at Salem Academy and College, where she managed all aspects of the institution's public relations program. Prior to joining Salem, she was a higher education and medical reporter for the Winston-Salem Journal. Barron is a board member of the Stratford Rotary and serves on the Public Assembly Facilities Commission. She is a past board member of Leadership Winston-Salem and Family Services, Inc. She has been named one of the Triad's "40 Leaders Under 40" and is the author of three biographies for the young adult market, Richard Nixon: American Politician; Lise Meitner: Discoverer of Nuclear Fission; and John Coltrane: Jazz Revolutionary. Bert joined Next Level Communications after serving as a vice president of public relations for Fyock & Associates from April 2000-January 2003. Prior to joining Fyock, Woodard was the managing editor for Carolina Blue newspaper in Charlotte for 10 years. His professional experience also includes serving as a public relations associate for Barron & Whitesell Public Relations/Marketing in Charlotte, associate public relations representative for Sports Marketing Enterprises, Inc., a subsidiary of RJR Nabisco, Inc. in Winston-Salem, assistant sports information director for Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, and service bureau assistant for the Atlantic Coast Conference office in Greensboro. Woodard, who holds an M.A. in sports administration and a B.A. in journalism from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, is currently on the board of the Charlotte Business Guild.
